I have always been a competitive person and have always enjoyed doing sports and activities that are competitive in nature. As a kid, I played soccer, football, and basketball. I picked up tennis in high school but lost my passion for football and basketball. Playing sports in high school had so much pressure involved that it drove me away from enjoying those activities.
I was completely sedentary in college and my first year in graduate school. I decided that I was making unhealthy choices and needed to make a change. I was the biggest I had ever been in my entire life. After my first year of grad school, I hired a personal trainer. I spent the entire summer devoted to eating healthier and exercising on a consistent basis. I continued my health and fitness journey when I went back to grad school for my 2nd year and have never reverted back to my old ways. I found CrossFit in 2012 and I have been hooked ever since.
My purpose for coaching is simple: I want to help ordinary people like me change their lives to be healthier and happier through exercise and fitness. I love seeing people learn new skills, get stronger, and achieve things they didn't know were possible. I enjoy the community aspect of CrossFit and building relationships with all members to make them the best possible version of themselves.
