I began my true fitness journey in 2012 when I stepped foot into my first CrossFit gym. I’ve led an active lifestyle since I was very young, but only did active things because I had to. I spent most of my school-age and middle-school years competing in gymnastics. Translated those skills into my high school years participating in tennis and track. As I entered college, I realized I was only doing fitness-related activities and workouts because I wanted to be in shape, but they never truly fulfilled me.
I call 2012 the start of my “true fitness journey.” I found a piece of me that I didn’t know existed in adult life. A competitive side that was starving for more. I felt stronger and more confident than I ever felt before. After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Mizzou, I jumped right into coaching strength and conditioning at a gymnastics facility down in Louisiana. I spent almost 4 years coaching competitive gymnastics, and in the meantime also attended my first CrossFit Level 1 seminar. I was all in on coaching, as I balanced CrossFit classes in the mornings, a full-time job, and gymnastics coaching in the evenings.
I found my true passion was wrapped in the midst of community and feeling like an athlete, so I continued to explore ways to help people find what I had found. After completing a few more certifications, attending many seminars, joining a nutrition coaching mentorship program, and experiencing many of my own nutrition and fitness wins and struggles, I decided to devote myself and my career to the fitness industry fully through CrossFit, personal training, and nutrition. My weeks are filled with coaching group classes, programming workouts, personal training sessions, coaching kids classes, and checking in with my nutrition clients; I can honestly say I love what I do & the community I get to do it with!
